A downloaded plan can't watch your progress. A UK-based coach builds your Consultation around the British race calendar and your actual fitness, then adjusts as your training unfolds - most communicate through messaging and in-app feedback.

Every profile is reviewed before going live on the marketplace, credentials are listed on each profile, and reviews can only be left by athletes who purchased coaching.

It's an 80-question exam authored by Dr. Jack Daniels, drawn from his book Daniels' Running Formula, and coaches need to score 80% or higher to pass. It's optional and sits alongside USATF and RRCA as one of three credentials you can filter by.

USATF (USA Track & Field) and RRCA (Road Runners Club of America) both run tiered coaching-education programs covering training science and coaching practice - separate from V.O2 Certified, which is V.O2's own credential built on Dr. Jack Daniels' methodology. Coaches can hold any combination of the three, and all are optional.

First, look for coaches with experience in your target distance, relevant specialities, and positive reviews. Or, search for coaches by location, product type, and price. Once you’ve narrowed your search, read the coaching bios to ensure the coach is the right fit for you. You can also message coaches directly to ask about their approach and whether they're a good fit for your goals.

Online coaches on V.O2 provide personalized training plans, feedback via messaging, phone calls and/or in-app commenting, and progress tracking without requiring in-person meetings. Most adjust your plan based on your weekly feedback and performance.
