About Martinus

Martinus Evans' journey into running began with a doctor's harsh warning that he needed to lose weight or "would die." Rather than be defeated by this prognosis, Martinus responded with characteristic defiance: "Watch me run a marathon." Despite having no running experience and weighing over 300 pounds, he committed to proving that runners come in all sizes and speeds. What started as a personal challenge evolved into the Slow AF Run Club, a global community now over 200,000 members strong. Through his platform, Martinus has created a revolutionary space where "back of the pack" isn't an insult but a badge of honor. His philosophy centers on the radical idea that running isn't about being fast—it's about showing up consistently and celebrating every milestone regardless of pace. As a certified running coach, multiple marathoner, and author, Martinus has been featured in Runner's World, The New York Times, People Magazine, and numerous other publications for his transformative impact on running culture. His podcast and social media platforms provide training resources specifically designed for beginners, larger-bodied athletes, and those who've felt excluded from traditional fitness spaces. Martinus has partnered with major brands including Brooks Running and Garmin, helping them create more inclusive marketing and products that serve the needs of all runners. His authentic approach and unwavering commitment to inclusion have made him one of the most influential voices reshaping the running industry's approach to diversity. Through VDOT02, Martinus continues his mission of empowering beginning runners to embrace their journey regardless of pace, proving that the running community becomes stronger when it welcomes everyone—especially those at the back of the pack.

When I went to load it in the v.02 app, I saw that I had been given the 10K run plan. I reached out to Martinus via the v.02 website and his email to rectify this, but have heard nothing back. I am not sure how else to have this corrected.
