About Caitlin

I started running with my dad in the 4th grade and haven't ever really stopped. I competed in high school and was captain of my college cross country and track team for two years, where I grew to love the 10k. After college, I joined a competitive running club in Pittsburgh and completed six marathons. I have been able to run during much (but not all!) of my four pregnancies and have enjoyed the slow and rewarding process of coming back to fitness after a long layoff. After having my third daughter, I was able to successfully regain my fitness and run PRs in the 5k, 10 mile and Marathon distance. I'm currently enjoying building back speed and strength after having my fourth baby. I previously taught fitness classes for moms and am enjoying coaching Track and XC at my daughter's school. I am always reading books about running and listening to podcasts to learn from the best. After a lot of research, I chose the VDOT O2 Certification because I have always referenced Daniel's Running Formula book in my own training. I love how precise this method is and how everything is backed by lab research. I have seen much improvement in my own running this year following his system as well. Additionally, two running philosophies I really believe in is "Train, Don't Strain" and "Consistency is Key", Chasing personal improvement and having big goals are very important to me. My years of running has taught me how much better life is when you make the space to do something good for yourself each day and enjoy the training process. Some of the best parts of running competitively for me has been the lifelong friends I have met along the way. I feel she has taken a considerable amount of time (and patience) understanding my current training and life situation. She is helping me find my love for running again, and I could not imagine being back in this place mentally (and physically) even just 3 months ago. Highly recommend no matter your goal, running background, or experience. I am looking forward to the months and races ahead.

In 12 weeks she challenged me to surpass goals I never thought possible in time and mileage. I started as a casual runner, and after 12 weeks spent with her I’m looking forward to my next race. She provides challenging training while supporting the need to make changes with my capabilities. She gently provides recommendations for change which has improved me so much as a runner. She provided a training regimen that fit me perfectly, which transformed my previously achy post-run body to one that feels strong and energetic after a run. Caitlin is encouraging, supportive and challenging, and I appreciate that she considers each runner as an individual. I look forward to continuing to train with Caitlin as she has solidified my love for running and desire to continue improving.

She’s got eight BQs to boot! Since I’ve started working with her, I’ve tried new ways of running and I can’t wait for my fall marathons to see Caitlin’s plan all pay off! She’s encouraging, supportive when you have a bad run and adaptive gets in the way of running sometimes. You want Caitlin as your coach and on your team!
