Evan Espinoza

Running Coach in Birmingham, Alabama, United States

About Evan

Growing up in Bentonville, AR, I had no idea how rich the running culture was in my hometown, and that really helped foster my love for the sport at a young age. I started running competitively in high school and was lucky to be a part of a very successful program led by Olympian Mike Power. I ran throughout high school and college (Evangel University) to the point that running is a part of who I am. My current passion is the marathon, in which I have run three and put down a 2:56:58 in Atlanta this past spring. I say all of this because the different experiences I've had in running not only grew my love for the sport, but helped instill the foundational principles of running in my training philosophy. I got into coaching because the more runners I meet, the more I realize how much information about running is out there and how overwhelming that can be for brand new runners and seasoned runners looking to elevate their performance. As a coach, I want to help encourage you in your running journey, but also help equip you with the knowledge to become a better and smarter runner. On top of my running experience, I also worked at one of the best running stores in the nation (Rush Running Co.) for a little over three years. While working there, I specialized in gait analysis and running biometrics. I helped a lot of people find the right running shoes for them and work through minor injuries to get back on the road safely! If you're still reading... through my running career, I clocked lifetime bests of 4:44 (mile), 16:14 (5k), 27:42 (8k), 35:09 (10k), and 2:56:58 (marathon). My coaching style incorporates my experiences in each distance alongside the many techniques I've learned from coaches at each stage in my career. If you're looking to take your running to the next level, let me help you get there!
