The Monumental Marathon is an annual marathon, half marathon, and 5K event held in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is recognized as one of the top-rated races in the United States and features a scenic route through downtown Indianapolis, passing local monuments and historic sites.
Course Terrain 
The course is generally flat and fast, winding through downtown Indianapolis, historic neighborhoods, and scenic park areas. Runners pass prominent city landmarks, including the Indiana State Capitol and Soldiers & Sailors Monument.
