I believe that every athlete, regardless of age or experience, deserves to have a coach who believes in and is as dedicated to their goals as they are. I pride myself in treating each athlete as an individual. Structuring their training plans to each individual's goals, ability, and level of experience and make adjustments based on those "unforeseen" moments that will inevitably arise during a training cycle. With one on one coaching, I directly connect with our athletes by text message, phone calls, zoom calls, through the VDOT app, and even aim to meet our athletes in person whenever possible. I have had the privilege of having my own running guide by so many amazingly passionate people and I work tirelessly to return that same passion that allowed me to become the best athlete possible to the athletes I now have the honor of working with. My priority as a coach is to work with you every step of the way. I never want my athletes to feel like they don't know what they are doing, why they are doing it, when their schedules will be posted, or if/when their coach will reach out. What's included --- I believe communication is a cornerstone to success. Each athlete has my personal cell phone number to communicate with me directly via text, phone call, Zoom, etc. What I prefer NOT to have, is our relationship be based on "business". I like to keep communication as ORGANIC as possible. I reach out to athletes via text twice weekly and offer check in calls every 4-6 weeks AND before every race. However, I DO NOT want any of my athletes feel like this is the "limit" to our communication. I encourage each athlete to communicate as much as they feel the need. Have a question about a workout? Text me! Want to discuss an upcoming week of training? Just ask! Have an immediate concern? Give me a call! I update training on a week by week basis for each individual and make continuous tweaks and updates as events occur. I don't believe in a template approach. I use overall guiding principles rooted in physiology, biomechanics, and personal experience to work with each athlete to individualize their plans for their goals. For race day, I write each athlete a very detailed race plan complete with course analysis, a discussion of the weather, fueling instructions, and paces. Race plans are posted to your vdot calendar a MINIMUM of 48 hours before your race. I thank you for taking the time to get to know more about me and my approach to coaching.
