This 100km training plan is for ultra runners with some experience at shorter ultras wanting to step up to the 100km ultra distance. It incorporates trail running and road running and will prepare you for the challenge of running 100km. This plan gives athletes the option to insert elevation where needed with Race Specific Terrain workouts as well ensuring you are working on other aspects of your run fitness such as cadence, threshold running, marathon tempo and critical velocity speed work.
Some experience running shorter ultras (50km, 50 mile, etc) is highly recommended. A base of running mileage of around 50-60km per week for the last 6 weeks is recommended. Minimum mileage - 67km/week (Week 1) Peak mileage - 106km approx. depending on your Vdot (Week 12)
