We will work together to help your body heal and recover postpartum and transition smoothly back to full sport participation. This begins with gentle walking and reconnecting with your pelvic floor muscles and includes conversations about maintaining good posture while nursing/feeding, babywearing, and pushing a stroller + moving baby/ies around in car seats. We will gradually include more bodyweight strength, and once you are physically, (medically), and mentally ready to return to a higher intensity of activit,y we will integrate running, cross training, and strength work with resistance. I am ready to support you with tips for training while little(s) is/are sleeping, incorporating them into training, and adjusting training based on how you feel as you navigate your unique postpartum journey. You can check in with me at any point via text, email, or VDOT, and we can have frequent phone or video calls for wraparound coaching support. This plan is appropriate for both new parent-athletes and seasoned pros who are welcoming another new little one into their family.
We need to have had an initial consultation call first. Athletes who would like to progress from pelvic floor and postural strength exercises to returning to running and heavier lifting will need medical clearance from their primary care physician.
